Tom Leimkuhler Joins Kia Motors America

IRVINE, Calif., April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Kia Motors America (KMA) announced that Tom Leimkuhler is joining the company as the new vice president, parts, effective April 18, reporting directly to Len Hunt, executive vice president and COO of KMA. In his new role, Mr. Leimkuhler is responsible for increasing parts and accessory sales, and overseeing all parts and accessories for inventory management, logistics and retail sales.

Leimkuhler brings to Kia more than 25 years of automotive experience, having most recently held the position of managing director, supply chain management and vice president, parts at MG/Nanjing Global Motors, where he was responsible for the creation and management of the Aftermarket Parts and Supply Chain Divisions in China, Europe and the United States. Prior to that, he spent 14 years with Mazda North American Operations as director, logistics, inventory management and parts distribution. Before joining Mazda, Leimkuhler served as national traffic manager, parts distribution at Subaru of America, Inc.

L.A. Kia Retailers Partner with KVEA/Telemundo to Give Away Cars in 'The Power to Surprise Sweepstakes: The Great Kia Car Giveaway'

Five Local Winners Will Drive Home in a New Kia Rio

Fifteen Los Angeles-area Kia retailers have teamed up with KVEA/Telemundo for "The Power to Surprise Sweepstakes: The Great Kia Car Giveaway," where one Kia Rio will be given away each month beginning in April. The contest will run through the end of August. To enter the sweepstakes, local residents can complete entry forms at any of the fifteen participating Kia retailers.

The new car promotion, which commences in three-week increments each month, was created by local Kia retailers in an effort to continue building relationships with the Spanish-speaking community. KVEA/Telemundo will be promoting the Rio giveaway on its television network and website. The fifteen participating retailers will market the contest as well in their local advertising efforts. The sweepstakes dates are: April 9-29; May 7-30; June 11 - July 1; July 9-30; August 6-26.

"If we can just get customers into our showrooms to see the quality, fit and finish of Kia vehicles, they would be amazed," said Ken Phillips, owner of two Kia dealerships in the Los Angeles area. Kia Motors America Sets First Quarter US Sales Record

IRVINE, Calif., April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced a new first quarter sales record of 73,603 units, a 13.5-percent increase over the same period last year, boosted by the company's best March sales ever of 27,567 units, a 6.0-percent increase over the same month in 2006.

The Kia Spectra compact sedan and five-door was the leading seller in March with 5,675 units, a 23.3-percent increase over the same month last year, while the successful launch of the all-new Rondo continued with 1,514 units sold.

"The expanded Kia lineup is bringing more customers to our showrooms than ever before, as evidenced by our record-setting quarter and the best March sales in company history," said Len Hunt, executive vice president and COO of KMA.
