Visteon Affiliate Halla Climate Control Wins 2007 PACE Award for Innovative Cooling Fan Module

Visteon Corporation (NYSE:VC) is honored to announce its affiliate Halla Climate Control Corporation (HCC) won the 2007 Automotive News PACE Award Competition for its innovative Wave Blade Fan and Saw Tooth Shroud cooling fan module. The award was presented at the 13th annual PACE Awards ceremony on April 16 at the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Detroit.

HCC, one of 12 winners, won in the product category. In accepting the award, HCC CEO and President YJ Shin thanked his team and recognized Halla's leading position in the market.

"I am very pleased to share this moment and share the organization's heart-felt thanks," he concluded in his acceptance speech. "We will continue to push forward with innovative initiative throughout its global network, along with targeting consumer satisfaction as our primary goal."

Unlike conventional engine-cooling fans, HCC's patented fan design integrates a single wave-blade fan and saw tooth-type shroud to create a low power, light weight and high efficiency cooling fan that significantly reduces overall noise, while increasing air flow. HCC's Wave Blade Fan and Saw Tooth Shroud cooling fan module is in production on the Hyundai Sonata for the North American market, as well as Hyundai and Kia vehicles in other markets.

"This prestigious award recognizes exceptional innovation of our HCC team," said Mike Johnston, Visteon chairman and CEO. "Visteon is proud to be partnered with a company recognized for its quality and technology leadership."

"As vehicle manufacturers strive to provide the most comfortable and quiet ride, reducing noise has become an increasingly important requirement for suppliers," explained Joy Greenway, vice president of Visteon's climate product group.

Visteon owns 70 percent of the equity shares of HCC. HCC produces a variety of leading climate control systems and components for the automotive industry, including air conditioning systems and heater assemblies, front-end modules, engine cooling modules, compressors, clutches and other components.

Visteon also received recognition at the PACE gala for its MACH(R) DSP technology for HD Radio(TM) reception -- taking home an Honorable Mention. This patented technology was the springboard for Visteon's HD Radio receiver. Last year, Visteon joined BMW to bring the first factory-installed HD Radio(TM) receiver to market on the 2006 BMW 6 and 7 series vehicles. Bill Whikehart, Visteon technical fellow, accepted this award on behalf of Visteon.

The PACE (Premier Automotive Suppliers' Contribution to Excellence) Award is presented by Automotive News, Microsoft, SAP and Transportation Research Center Inc., and recognizes suppliers for superior innovation, technological advancement and business performance. A group of independent judges selected the winners from a field of 23 finalists.
